Un accord entre les États-Unis et le Canada à été signé, concernant la conversion des licences « pilote professionnel et pilote de ligne »

En bref cela dit ceci :
  • Faire une demande de vérification de l’authenticité à la FAA Airmen Certification Branch;
  • Être titulaire d’un certificat médical de deuxième classe afin d’exercer les privilèges d’un certificat de pilote professionnel de la FAA;
  • Totaliser un minimum de 250 heures de vol en qualité de pilote;
  • Réussir un test de connaissances aéronautiques écrit de la FAA sur des questions de droit aéronautique et de communications             (note de passage 70%);
  • Savoir lire, écrire, parler et comprendre l’anglais. (vous serez évalué verbalement)

Pour préparer l’examen vous pouvez consulter le document FAA Airman Knowledge testing en cliquant sur le lien suivant:

Pour l’examen médical auprès d’un médecin agréé FAA, vous trouverez dans la région de Montréal, le docteur Anne Theriault       514-903-1916, ensuite aller vous présenter au bureau FSDO le plus proche avec votre médical américain, votre licence canadienne et votre passeport. Content Summary:
The requester will have to:
  • Submit a Verification of Authenticity request form to the FAA Airmen Certification Branch ;
  • Detain a valid class 2 medical certificate in order to have the privileges of the FAA professional pilot certificate;
  • Totalize a minimum of 250 flight time hours;
  • Successfully pass a written FAA knowledge test, appropriate to the FAA pilot certificate or rating, in the areas of air regulations and communications. The passing score is 70 percent overall;
  • Candidate should be bilingual.

Regarding the medical examination with a FAA doctor, in the Montreal area,the FAA-agreed Doctor is Dr Anne Theriault 514-903-1916, then go to the nearest FSDO office with your American medical certificate, your Canadian licence and passport.
